If your child or youth group desire to partner with Reaching Up on a community project please feel free to click on the Service Project link below to Sign-Up!

Middle School:

The "Awesome Experience" is a three-week summer program for middle school-aged youth. This experience starts out with a one day retreat. This one day event serves as a team-building and initial icebreaker for the participants. This event will take place in Wilmington, NC at an activity course where trained leaders will lead a set of activates to build and strength the team. Retreat: July 12th

The full three week program will consist of instilling and developing leadership skills, academic skills, and promoting active citizenship. On Friday’s service projects will be conducted. Service projects can range between raising money or awareness for a certain cause or implements an event or program within Columbus County. Service Projects should be able to fall within one of these categories: Health, Education, Hunger, Human Rights, and Environment. During Friday service projects the youth will have the opportunity to eat lunch with two or three community leaders along with a few college students who are studying in the corresponding field. Sessions: July 14-August 1

On the Saturday immediately after the last Friday service project there will be a Reflection Night. The reflection night is a community celebration. Designed solely to recognize each youth's participation in the program. This night will also serve to raise awareness about the many opportunities that the community and other youth need to continue to grow. Presentations, RU Performances, and refreshments will be in the mix! Reflection Night: August 2

High School:

“Success Saturdays” is more of a one-on-one mentorship and tutoring for high school students preparing to take the SAT and ACT, search and apply for colleges and scholarships. Students will be allowed to sign up for a few hours on Saturday’s for SAT prep and college prep help. Students are required to have already taken the SAT/ACT before attending the sessions. This test will serve as pre assessment and a study guide for improvement.
